It's very simple to go to Shilin Night Market (士林夜市) from Beimen WOW Poshtel. You just need to go to Zhongshan Station (中山站), take the red direction Tamsui and get off at Jiantan Station (劍潭站). Once you get there, you have to follow the indications in the metro station, or even easier, just follow the crowd.

Shilin Night Market is one of the most famous night markets in Taiwan. It's always packed, not only with tourists but also with locals.

It’s divided into two parts, the main building and the streets that surround it. There are a lot of stalls where you can buy food, but we will recommend you the ones that we think are a must:

- Pepper Pork Bun (胡椒餅): a round of dough filled with marinated pork and green onions, wrapped into a bun, and cooked in the barrel oven. Don’t freak out when you see the waiting line… It’s going to be worth it!

- Jiao zi (餃子): a classic. Simply delicious.

- 大腸包小腸: how to translate that... it’s literally 'large intestine wrapping small intestine', but maybe it’s easier if we just explain what it is: it’s a small meat sausage inside a big glutinous rice sausage, the大腸包小腸 is barbequed on the spot, topped up with lettuce, salted vegetables, and lots and lots of garlic which add to the whole zesty taste. It’s just too good to describe put it into words so… I guess you have to try it and find out for yourself!

- 黑糖珍珠奶茶: Brown Sugar Pearl Milk Tea. When in doubt? Bubble tea. Always a good option, we recommend you go try Tiger Sugar’s.
