To get from Beimen Wow Poshtel to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall you just need to take the MRT red line from Zhongshan station to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall Station. (Direction Xiangshan 象山. It costs 20 NTD for a single journey ticket). Once you get there, just go to exit number 5 and… that’s it!

As soon as you get out you can see the National Concert Hall (國家音樂廳) and the National Theater (國家戲劇院), two twin buildings at the north and the south of Liberty Square (自由廣場), respectively. These two colourful and eye-catching buildings are two of the first major modern performing arts facilities to be established in Asia.

At the east of this big plaza, you can find the majestic Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (國立中正紀念堂), a famous national monument, landmark and tourist attraction erected in memory of Chiang Kai-shek, former President of the Republic of China.

Apart from these three stunning buildings, we have to mention Liberty Square’s door: a breathtaking Paifang (牌坊) structure, which is a traditional style of Chinese architectural arch or gateway structure.

When you get tired of walking around, you can go have some fresh air at the lovely park that surrounds Liberty Square or go to Nanmen Market (南門市場), where you can find all sorts of Taiwanese snacks.
